GIGABYTE is now making products in India. The company has partnered with local manufacturers there, which is a big deal for their expansion in the Indian market.
They’re starting with motherboards since those already sell pretty well in India. Down the line, they want to add monitors and laptops to what they’re producing locally, too.
The company’s chairman, Yeh Pei-cheng, mentioned that India is really important to GIGABYTE worldwide. By manufacturing there, they can be more connected to Indian customers.
Here’s an interesting detail: GIGABYTE isn’t actually building its own factories in India. Instead, they’re using an OEM approach where Indian companies do the manufacturing for them. Because of this setup, it’s unclear right now if these Indian-made products will only stay in India or if they’ll ship them to other countries as well.
