Both models feature a 6.55-inch 1.5K Oasis display with eye-protection technology and come in four attractive color options: Moonlight Silver, Aquamarine, Starlight Pink, and Obsidian Black. The camera housing uses a “Crystal Island” layout that increases internal space efficiency by 10% over the previous generation. Despite coming with an 8000mAh battery, the device maintains a remarkably slim profile at just 7.75mm thick, making it the slimmest phone with this battery capacity.
The standard Honor 500 runs on the fourth-generation Snapdragon 8s processor, while the Pro variant features the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Ultra chip. Both include Honor’s exclusive Phantom Engine technology, which delivers consistent 120fps performance in popular MOBA games, with 1% low frame rates reaching 118.4fps and virtually zero frame rate stuttering.
Every Honor 500 model includes the massive 8000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging, and 27W reverse wired charging capabilities. The Pro edition adds 50W wireless fast charging. Standard features across the lineup include NFC, dual speakers, dual-frequency GPS, and quad-frequency Beidou navigation. The Pro version distinguishes itself with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader that offers dimmer, more comfortable nighttime unlocking.
The photography setup centers around a 200-megapixel main sensor with a large 1/1.4-inch size, reportedly the biggest in its category, optimized for low-light photography. It’s complemented by a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with night mode capabilities. The standard model achieves a 4.5 CPIA stabilization rating, while the Pro reaches 5.0, claiming best-in-class stabilization performance. A dedicated camera button on the device’s right edge provides instant camera access with a single press.
The Honor 500 series includes an integrated video production toolkit supporting 4K ultra-high-definition streaming, portrait background blur during live sessions, real-time beauty filters, and cinematic live video effects. The phones also introduce enhanced cross-platform functionality, including “iOS One-Hop Transfer” capability that can move ten video files in just one second.
The Honor 500 series became available for purchase this morning at 10:00 AM. These new smartphones showcase several standout features, including a seamless cold-carving manufacturing technique, a 200-megapixel portrait camera system, Snapdragon 8 series processors, and a substantial 8000mAh Qinghai Lake battery. The entry-level model starts at 2699 yuan ($380).
